De-stressification Tips

I hate stress and over the years have invested a significant amount of time into finding ways to get rid of it. It's a fact of life and it's always going to find us, but here are the best ways I have been able to combat it in my day-to-day life:

1. Pray - And I don't mean just "talk" about praying...actually do it. God is in control of every little thing. If there's no prayer in our life, we're saying "God, I can do this without you." Your life is better in God's hands so just give Him your stress already. He knows what to do with it.

2. Unplug - Don't forget to have fun. Find the thing that helps you to unplug and do a little bit of it every day. For me it's playing video games (currently playing RE4, Half life 2, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Asphalt Urban GT), but it could be anything.

3. Update - Technology is awesome and in many cases can help with life's little stresses. Take for example the exchange spam filter that my company uses: our email is scanned for junk mail and nasty viruses so all I ever get in my inbox is the good stuff. It's seemingly small, but little things like this really take a load off.

4. Hang with yo peeps - Don't ignore your family if you get busy. Life is better if your relationship with your family is healthy, so make time to do stuff and laugh together.

That's what works for me.

"Today is my one-hundred and eleventh birthday" ~B. Baggins

Well, maybe it's not my 111th, but it's my 26th and it's off to a great start. I got the royal treatment this morning: woke up to The Cranberries "Every Morning" playing on the CD player, breakfast in bed (an egg turkey and provalone sandwich with OJ,) and a rad Nintendo Tee. My wife is awesome.

Tonight I will dine at Saskatoon and then go to Best Buy to get my presents: the Napoleon Dynamite DVD and either a Gamecube or DS game. Should be a blast.

My first ever blog post (*lights a firework)

Nothin much to say here. This is my first blog entry. Things are good. I had birthday cake at work today which reminded me of Office Space, and my dog that ran away yesterday came back, so things are definately on the up and up.
